The guitar solo by Randy Rhodes on Crazy Train was honored by Guitar World magazine as the 9th best guitar solo in history. Randy was trained in classical music and added those elements into his metal genre. He favored Gibson Les Paul guitars but also played Fender guitars. Randy's guitar solo on Crazy Train was #51 in Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time". The guitar parts were double or triple tracked in "Crazy Train", which made it unique. Randy Rhodes died in a plane crash in 1982.
