Ranked #5 - All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix

Originally a Bob Dylan song, Jimi Hendrix re-crafted the imagery draped tune with a huge guitar sound. Using almost every effect at his disposal, Jimi created one of the most memorable guitar centric songs of all time.

Dylan himself has said "I liked Jimi Hendrix's record of this and ever since he died I've been doing it that way... [isn't it] strange how when I sing it, I always feel it's a tribute to him in some kind of way?" 'Nuff said.
