Tuning Heads

Tuners are a mainstay part on any guitar. They regulate string tension and are responsible for holding the guitar in tune as well as tuning the guitar. They are usually controlled via a knob that connects the actual string wrapped tuning peg wrapped via several gears.

There are many different styles of tuning heads used by various guitar manufacturers, a open back example is pictured to the right.
