Maple Wood
Maple wood in guitars is commonly used in the construction of the necks or as top/decorative pieces of the body. The sound is brighter because the density of the wood is higher in maple than in rosewood. Most necks will have a maple neck but a different fingerboard, that combines the desirable qualities of both woods.
