Humbucker Pickups
With a fatter sound, humbucker pickups are prized for their ability to cancel noise that can be apparent in the use of single coil pickups. They work by combining two single coils into one, magnets facing the opposite direction. They are most common in Les Pauls or guitars with extremely high outputs.
Guitars that play anything from metal to jazz commonly use humbuckers to create their sound, and humbuckers are likely the most common pickup out there.
